Vacuum leak testing for rapid identification of leaking tubes.
Vacuum leak testing uses the ASLPKVLD-3000 Vacuum Leak Tester as a simple, precise and fast method of locating leaks in boilers, condensers and heat exchangers.
- One tool for multiple tube sizes
- Built-in vacuum gauge
- Lightweight and easy to use
- Quiet operation with muffled exhaust
- Uses standard plant air supplies
Seal, evacuate and monitor the vacuum reading on the individual tube.
The tester seals off and evacuates an individual tube. A steady gauge reading indicates the tube is sound; if the reading drops, the tube has a leak. That makes the method useful for quick location of leaking tube-to-tubesheet joints.
Runs from standard plant air
The tool operates on standard air supplies from 40 to 125 psi, with a Venturi creating 21 to 24 in-Hg vacuum at typical inlet conditions.
Broad tube-size range
Interchangeable manifolds, seals and washer sets allow testing of tube-to-tubesheet joints from 3/8 inch OD to 2-1/2 inch.
Leak location
The service is intended to locate leaking tubes accurately before plugging or wider repair work proceeds.
Fast decision support
Rapid testing can reduce uncertainty during shutdowns and help narrow the required intervention scope.
Boilers, condensers and exchangers
The method is suited to these core tube-based asset types.
Natural follow-on work
Leak testing often leads into tube plugging, cleaning or refurbishment depending on the findings.
